Every company or organisation has at least one room or zone that must be protected from the risks associated with unauthorised entry, such as theft, malicious intent, unlawful access to IT systems and industrial espionage.
Similar protection must be provided at entry points to homes and at points of access to premises annexed to homes.

• the first type have no electrical power supply (no batteries or wires) - mechanical access control units.
• the second type have no external electrical power supply - stand-alone electronic access control units.
